Professor M. Ufuk Caglayan received his BSEE and MSCS degrees from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, in 1973 and 1975 respectively, and his PhD degree from North-western University, Evanston, Illinois, in 1981. Dr. Caglayan was an instructor at DePaul University, North-western University and University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He served as a computer scientist in BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany. Dr. Caglayan is currently a full professor and the chairman of the Department of Computer Engineering, Bogazici University, Istanbul. His interests are in computer networks, wireless and mobile networks, sensor networks, parallel and distributed systems, operating systems, computer security, performance modelling and software engineering. Dr. Caglayan is a member of IEEE, ACM, Turkish Informatics Society, Turkish Association of Electrical Engineers and Turkish Internet Technologies Society.
